“Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine” is a program of the President of Ukraine, which aims to make sports accessible to as many people as possible.
More than five million four hundred thousand hryvnias were allocated from the state budget for the development of mass sports in the Lviv region. This is 38% more than last year. Therefore, from April 1, 65 coordinators will work within the framework of the project “Active parks – locations of healthy Ukraine” instead of the announced 47.
Classes will be held in more than fifty territorial communities of the region, the full list can be viewed here.
Free classes on various types of activities will be available for the population of the communities, such as Nordic walking, overcoming tourist routes, sports games, relay races, fitness, classes on simulators, cycling and others. Such sports events are available for all segments of the population of all ages.
“This program is especially important for small communities. Where there are no “Sports for All” centers, there are no private sports clubs or sustainable communities. In such communities, coordinators, whose task is the systematic development of mass sports, become key figures in popularizing a healthy lifestyle. They receive tools, motivation and professional support for quality and systematic work. This year, we set an additional priority within the framework of the project – to involve our veteran soldiers in the team of coordinators,” says the head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Roman Khimyak.
We would like to add that in 2023, according to the results of the project “Active parks – locations of a healthy Ukraine”, Lviv Oblast entered the top three out of 22 oblasts of Ukraine and Kyiv. And the Zolochiv territorial community took first place among all territorial communities of Ukraine in the All-Ukrainian competition “Active parks for all”.
“Active parks” in Lviv Oblast in 2023 are:
✅80 coordinators in 46 communities of the region.
✅185 locations used for active training.
✅over 6,000 sports and health events of various formats.
✅over 88,000 residents of Lviv Oblast who joined the activities of the program.
