Nordic walking competitions were held as part of the Lviv Region Sports Games
On May 11, a Nordic walking competition was held in Bryukhovychi as part of the XXXIII Regional Complex Competition “Lviv Oblast Sports Games”. For the first time, the competition was held in a new format, namely in the form of a relay race. Each of the four participants competed not only for their own result but also for the team.
“The Lviv Oblast Sports Games is the largest social and sports project involving teams from territorial communities in Lviv Oblast. A series of tournaments in various sports are held throughout the year. The results of all events are summarized and the winners are determined.
The Nordic walking competition brought together 11 territorial communities. 10 teams competed in the “adults” category, 9 teams in the “veterans” category, and two teams in the “people with disabilities” category.

“The Nordic Walking competition is the fifth type of program held this year as part of the project. Before that, we determined the strongest community in the region in badminton, swimming, table tennis, and checkers. There will also be tournaments in chess, volleyball, beach volleyball, basketball, 3×3 basketball, cross-country skiing, sports tourism, shooting, and family battles “Mom, Dad, and I are a sports family,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
