The fencer from Lviv region, Anna Maksymenko, as part of the Ukrainian national team, won gold at the European Championship.
The competition took place in Genoa, Italy. This is the first such medal in Ukraine’s history. Anna competed on the team with Olena Kryvytska, Inna Brovko, and Vlada Kharkova. In the final, our girls defeated the Swiss team.
As noted by the Fencing Federation of Ukraine, this medal is the first gold and the sixth overall team award for Ukraine in women’s epee in the history of the European Championships.
