European championship 2024 recap (English in comments)
Sokal resident Daria Iskiv reported on the results of her performance at the European Championship in classical powerlifting on Facebook:
- Squats 175 ✅ 182.5🔴 182.5 ✅ – 7️⃣place
- Bench press 105 ✅ 110 ✅ 112.5🔴 – 7️⃣place
- Deadlift 185🔴 190🔴 190🔴
These competitions were the worst in my career, but I made some conclusions. I still feel strong, confident and proud of myself. The second squat attempt was a stupid mistake on my part, I pulled the belt tighter, I won’t do it again.
The 3rd attempt was easy and still had power to spare. The 3rd bench press was too hard, especially with such long pauses.
The deadlift was impressive. The first attempt was easy, but I lost my balance at the top. The second time I pulled carefully so I wouldn’t wobble, but the judges gave me 3 different colors, so I couldn’t challenge the approach.
The third attempt, obviously, I was already tired and nervous, but I was able to fix the weight.
Unfortunately, the opinion of the judges did not change, their decision was negative, the reason being the downward movement of the bar. The jury rejected my appeal, and I left the contest.
