Solomiia Petriv, a pupil of the municipal institution of the Lviv Regional Council “Lviv Professional College of Sport”, has become the silver medallist at the U-17 World Championships in freestyle wrestling. The competition took place in Baku (Azerbaijan) from 27 July to 2 August.
The Ukrainian athlete claimed the silver medal in the up to 73 kg weight category. Earlier, Solomiia Petriv had already become European champion in the U-17 and U-15 age categories, as well as a bronze medallist at the U-17 World Championships.
Other pupils of the Lviv Professional College of Sport also competed at the World Championships. Yuliia Holhovska finished in 16th place, while Ivanna Maidanska took 22nd place.
“Congratulations to Solomiia, the representatives of the Ukrainian national team and the coaching staff!” the college noted.
