The Winter Ukrainian Swimming Championship, held from 5th to 7th March, was an important stage for athletes from the Lviv region. Approximately 400 athletes from 22 regions and Kyiv participated in the competition, representing 44 clubs. It was an opportunity for many swimmers to win medals, set personal records, and qualify for the national team for international events.
Sophia Lesniak secured 2nd place in the 800m freestyle junior category with a time of 9:09.02 and 5th place in the 400m freestyle (4:32.18). She is coached by Olga Logovska and Stepan Hula.
Oleksandr Lukavetskyi took 2nd place in the 1500m freestyle junior category (16:25.39) and 7th place in the 400m freestyle (4:10.29). His coach is Serhiy Stetskovych.
Yuriy Svetlytskyi claimed 2nd place in the 1500m freestyle youth category (16:35.03) and 3rd place in the 200m freestyle (1:59.20). He is coached by Serhiy Stetskovych and Svyatoslav Hros.
The championship also saw notable performances from Anastasia Strohush, Danylo Fylipiv, Maksym Mykhalchuk, Margarita Romankova, Anastasia Artyukh, Markiyan Borysenko, Olha Dudun, Yulia Kryzhanovska, and Valeriy Melnyk, who achieved high results in their categories.
Some athletes met the standards for the Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine, including Dariy Andrushko and Valeriy Melnyk.
