From 26th to 29th March, the ISKA Kickboxing Championship of Ukraine took place in Kyiv, gathering around 700 athletes from 22 regions of Ukraine. This competition served as an important qualifying stage for the European Championship in Germany and the World Championship in Spain.
The Drohobych community was proudly represented at the tournament by athletes from the ‘Patriot’ sports club, who demonstrated a high level of preparation. They competed in two categories — point hard and full contact. Point hard involves speed techniques with scoring after each successful action, while full contact is a more intense category where full-force strikes are allowed without stopping the fight.
As a result of the competition, Drohobych athletes achieved significant results. In the point hard category: first place was won in different weight categories by Vitaliy Hlavach (80 kg) and Maria Kurman (55 kg). Nazar Danchyshyn (71 kg) took third place. In the full contact category, Vitaliy Hlavach (80 kg) and Maria Kurman (55 kg) secured second place.
The success of the athletes is the result of hard work and professional training under the guidance of coach Anatoliy Hnatkiv. We sincerely congratulate the winners and prize-winners of the competition and wish them further success and new victories on the international stage.
