At the Ukrainian artistic gymnastics championship, held from 25 to 29 March in Kropyvnytskyi, gymnasts from the Lviv region participated. This year’s competition for the first time included performances by younger gymnasts in the second and first adult categories.
This new competition format aims to popularise artistic gymnastics and improve the compulsory programme. Among the girls competing in the first adult category, Violetta Hrabovetska (born 2014) took 2nd place, while Kvitoslava Sukhnatska (born 2015) became the champion of Ukraine.
In the second adult category, Milana Pryharska (born 2017) secured 4th place, and Zlata Balbuza (born 2016) came in 6th. The athletes were coached by trainers from the V. Chukarin Youth Sports School: Halyna Orban, Iryna Balbuza, Yustyna Promkina, as well as acrobatics coaches Volodymyr Netolya and Vasyl Kit.
In the boys’ competition, 37 young athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated. Results for the Lviv region athletes: Dmytro Shlyapakov (born 2014) took 14th place, and Sebastian Kozak (born 2013) came in 21st. The boys are trained by Inga Biryushova from Youth Sports School No. 1.
