On Sunday, August 28, cycling races in the legendary “Gran Fondo” format will be held in Lviv region.
Lviv Bicycle Club organizes one of the key events in the field of amateur cycling with the support of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv OVA.
On Friday, the organizers opened registration for this year’s races. More than 100 participants have already registered over the weekend. Due to the martial law, the limit of participants was set at 350 cyclists. All participants must pay entry fees. The collected funds will be transferred to the Armed Forces.
“This year, the resource is spent only on the necessary organizational minimum of the event, as well as on security measures for the participants. All additional expenses are reduced, and the funds go to the needs of the Armed Forces,” the organizers note.
The “Gran Fondo” bicycle marathon will be held in Lviv Oblast for the sixth time. This year, the route will differ from the traditional one and will run from Komarno to Skhidnytsia. Participants will cover 85 km. Traditionally, cyclists will be accompanied by police and medics.
We will remind you that the club held the largest cycling marathon “Lvivska Sotka” online. It was possible to join and overcome the distance in any convenient place. More than half a thousand people took part in the online marathon. The organizers managed to collect and hand over 120,000 hryvnias to the “Return Alive” fund.
