Three young swimmers from Truskavets claimed 8 podium places at the Lviv Open Swimming Cup, dedicated to Ukraine’s Physical Culture and Sports Day. The competition took place on 12–13 September 2026 at the summer sports training base of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine in Lviv and brought together around 500 participants from 13 regions of Ukraine.
The Truskavets Youth Sports Club ‘Sportovets’ team was represented by athletes coached by Bohdan Smerechynskyi and Ihor Pavliv. They demonstrated a high level of preparation and repeatedly stepped onto the winners’ podium.
Anastasiia Asafat took 3rd place in the 200 m individual medley and 2nd place in the 400 m individual medley. Yevhen Melnychuk finished 3rd in the 100 m breaststroke and came second in the 50 m breaststroke.
The most successful member of the Truskavets team was Milana Maiboroda. She won two first places in the 50 m freestyle and 100 m backstroke, as well as two second places in the 50 m backstroke and 100 m freestyle. Based on the all-round standings, Milana ranked first in her age group and received a cash prize of 3,000 UAH.
Participants and organisers of the tournament stressed that such sporting events are possible thanks to the bravery of Ukrainian service personnel who are defending the country.
