On 22 February 2024, volleyball competitions between teams of educational institutions of the Belzka community were held at the Staiiv gymnasium named after Osyp Leshchuk.
The event took place as part of the “Side by Side All-Ukrainian School Leagues” sports competition, an all-Ukrainian project aimed at increasing the number of schoolchildren involved in sports and leading a healthy lifestyle. The competition is organised at the community level by the Education and Culture Department of the Belz City Council.
Volleyball is one of the five sports (besides basketball, futsal, cheerleading and orienteering) included in the list of these competitions.
It was nice to know that we had not just any schoolchildren, but young men and women who prioritise their own health and whose expression “being in shape” is backed up by daily exercises, sports and various activities.
The competitions were organised, with an equal and fierce struggle between the teams, with clear and professional refereeing by the team coaches – physical education teachers.
According to the results of the matches played, the GIRLS’ TEAM of Staiiv’s Osyp Leshchuk Gymnasium became the WINNER of the girls’ competition, and the BOYS’ TEAM of our gymnasium took the FIRST PLACE among the boys’ teams. Both winning teams were awarded large “golden” cups of the competition.
We congratulate our students on their high results and congratulate their coach, physical education teacher Olga Gulich. We wish our students to always be friends with physical education and sports, to set new personal records and to conquer higher and higher sports peaks!
We would like to thank the judging team for their professionalism and clear organisation of the competition. We would also like to note that we were pleased to meet wonderful schoolchildren from different educational institutions of our district.
We hope that on the day of the competition, our students were able to get a positive charge and good emotions from their favourite game and from communicating with their peers and friends.
