On the first day of February, Lviv judo athletes under 18 competed for the title of the best in their weight categories. The competition was held in the sports hall of SDYuShOR 2 and gathered more than 50 young athletes.
The following champions were honored:
- Up to 46 kg – Maksym Habelok
- Up to 50 kg – Oleksandr Yakymiv
- Up to 55 kg – Ivan Husenko
- Up to 60 kg – Zakhar Gunder
- Up to 66 kg – Maksym Teslyuk
- Up to 73 kg – Oleksandr Horodok
- Up to 81 kg – Ihor Kret
- Up to 90 kg – Svyatoslav Krutikov
- Over 90 kg – Artur Yakovyna
- Up to 36 kg – Anna Kostyuk
- Up to 44 kg – Veronika Nakonechna
- Up to 52 kg – Aliona Lisogorova
- Up to 57 kg – Karolina Shtefutsa
- Over 70 kg – Veronika Manko
These significant competitions are considered as qualifiers for the nationwide judo championship, which will be held in Cherkasy from February 19 to 21. “The competition not only determined the best in various weight categories but also played a key role in the selection for the national championship,” shared Roman Khimyak, head of the Lviv Regional Administration’s Youth and Sports Department.
