On January 14, Lviv will host the 24th international high jump tournament, which honors the memory of the celebrated Ukrainian track and field athlete Oleksiy Demjanyuk. This year, athletes from all over Ukraine will compete for the main prizes of the competition.
A feature of the “Memorial Oleksiy Demyanuk” competitions is the participation of both young novice athletes and well-known athletes: participants and medalists of the Olympic Games, World Championships, and Europe (Yaroslava Maguchih, Iryna Gerashchenko and Yuliya Levchenko).
For a long time, the tournament has become popular among the “high jumpers” of Ukraine, it gathers about 100 participants, and is rightfully one of the best high jump tournaments and opens the track and field season in Ukraine.
Youth and junior high jump tournaments, Grand Prix among women and men are planned in the “Memorial Oleksiy Demjanyuk” competition program.
The competition will take place in the LFUFK arena (17 Cheremshiny St.).

The competition is held in memory of the famous Ukrainian sportsman Oleksiy Demyanuk, master of sports of international class, participant of XXII Olympic Games in 1980, winner of the best result in the world in 1981 (233 cm – 11.07.1981), who tragically died in 1999.
