On December 12, the traditional youth event “Galician Vanguard 2024” took place at the Lviv Regional Plast Center, bringing together representatives of youth organizations and active young people from the Lviv region. The event gathered 70 participants dedicated to fostering youth development in the region.
The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation between the Department of Youth and Sports and youth organizations in Lviv and to enhance the effectiveness of their activities. During the event, participants reviewed the achievements of youth initiatives over the past year and outlined plans for future projects.
Key initiatives implemented this year included:
- The Tornado Field Game,
- The School of Mentors “Dzhura” Training,
- The Military-Patriotic Training “It’s Time”,
- The Spiritual-Patriotic Camp “Dyvotsvit”.
In 2023, a total of 37 regional-level projects were carried out. According to Roman Khimyak, head of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the key principle in their work was: “By youth and for youth, with youth participation only.”
The event concluded with informal networking around a campfire. Participants enjoyed traditional dishes such as kulesh, sang patriotic songs, and performed carols accompanied by guitar, fostering a warm and friendly atmosphere.
