Lviv has opened registration for the open regional clay pigeon shooting competition “Defenders of Ukraine Cup”, which will take place on 9 October as part of the “League of the Unconquered” project. The sporting event will be hosted by the Lviv Shooting Range on 34 Yeroshенка Street.
Veterans of the war, serving military personnel and cadets of higher military education institutions are invited to take part. The programme includes a sporting exercise: each participant must hit 40 targets.
The competition will run on 9 October from 09:30 to 18:00. Based on the results, individual winners will be determined and four sets of awards will be contested in two categories: among war veterans who have sustained wounds, blast injuries, trauma, damage or illnesses as a result of russia’s military aggression against Ukraine (men and women), and among serving military personnel and cadets of higher military education institutions (men and women).
The organisers emphasise that the “Defenders of Ukraine Cup” is not only a sporting event, but also of important social significance — it is an opportunity to meet, talk, test one’s abilities and spend time among people with similar combat and life experience.
The event is organised by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Lviv Regional Council municipal institution “Olympic Training Centre” and the Lviv Regional Branch of the NGO “Ukrainian Clay Pigeon Shooting Federation”.
