Traditionally, the mayor of Lviv Andriy Sadovy joined the charity event, announcing the first contribution from the city community – 500 thousand hryvnias to help children with cancer.
“Thank you to the organizers, thank you to Arsen Mirzoyan for such a great event. I always added from the community of the city, and this time we are starting. The first contribution from the community of Lviv is 500,000. Let’s start!” – said the mayor of Lviv before the start of the cycle race.
“I pedal so that they live” is a charity bike ride that takes place in Lviv every year on the initiative of singer Arsen Mirzoyan and the “Zaporuk” Charitable Foundation. The event became a big family holiday for thousands of Lviv residents and guests of the city. The participants communicate, arrange photo and autograph sessions and go on bicycles through the center of Lviv.
“Seven years ago, our history of annual charity bike races began. We collect all our forces, talents, all our power and convert them into good deeds. This is helping children. This is such a good tradition of ours and such a great family holiday. A holiday of help and warmth,” Arsen Mirzoyan said.
This year, the goal of the event is to collect at least 500,000 hryvnias for the reconstruction and arrangement of the reception area for critically ill patients at the Western Ukrainian Specialized Children’s Medical Center in Lviv. And this amount is already given by the community of the city of Lviv. In past years, bike races collected about a million hryvnias, and with these funds, six wards of the hematology and intensive chemotherapy department, three rooms of the functional diagnostics office were renovated, and five infusion machines were purchased for children with cancer.
By the way, the participants started from Rynok Square along the following route: st. Pamvy Berinda – Ave. Svobody – square Various – ave. Chornovola – str. Lypinsky – street Khmelnytskyi – str.
