The Ukrainian team at the Winter Paralympic Games in Milan delivered impressive results, securing 19 awards: 3 gold, 8 silver, and 8 bronze medals. This achievement placed our team third in the overall medal count.
Among the athletes from Lviv region who proudly represented Ukraine, Pavlo Bal and Vasyl Kravchuk stand out. Pavlo, a biathlete, skier, and cyclist, became a silver medallist in the mixed relay of cross-country skiing. He also won bronze in para-cycling at the Summer Games in Paris in 2024. Vasyl Kravchuk, a skier and biathlete, finished 4th in the biathlon sprint.
From the regional budget, Pavlo and Vasyl will receive 150,000 and 80,000 hryvnias respectively. Their achievements evoke pride throughout the region and Ukraine. Special thanks to the athletes’ coaches and their families, who support them on their path to victory.
At the meeting with the athletes, their families were present, highlighting the importance of close support in achieving success. Orest and Zakhar, young family members, already understand the strength, character, and taste of victory.
