Weightlifters from the Lviv region demonstrated high results at the Ukrainian Championship, held in Lutsk from November 24 to 29.
Anna Kirstyuk became the runner-up among women, winning silver and bronze awards in snatch and clean and jerk in the 86 kg weight category. “This is a great achievement for me, and I am very proud of this result,” noted Anna.
Oleg Shchekalyov, despite an injury, won silver in snatch in the 65 kg weight category. “It was not easy, but I am glad I could show a good result,” said Oleg.
The performance of young athlete Vitaliy Soroka was successful as he won bronze in clean and jerk and set a new Ukrainian record among juniors at 129 kg in the same weight category. “I am very pleased with my performance and hope for further success,” shared Vitaliy.
Tetyana Malyavska finished just short of the podium in the 58 kg weight category. Victoria Futryk, Victoria Tkachenko, and Serhii Lysheha placed 8th in the finals in the 48, 63, and 79 kg weight categories, respectively.
For various reasons, team leaders Bohdan Goza, Anatoliy Horidko, and Yevhen Voronka did not participate in the championship.
