
Rowers from Lviv Oblast won 13 medals at the Ukrainian Canoe Marathon Championships in memory of Ihor Prysiazhniuk, which took place in Vinnytsia from 28 to 31 May, the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv RMA reported.
The Lviv Oblast team claimed a total of 2 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze medals across various age categories and distances.
Vitalii Brezitskyi took 1st place in the single kayak 3.4 km event, as well as 2nd place in the KX relay over 4.2 km and 2nd place in the double kayak over 29.8 km.
Vitalii Bratash secured 3rd place in the mixed kayak relay over 4.2 km and 3rd place in the single kayak over 29.8 km.
Sofiia Demchyna took 3rd place in the single kayak 3.4 km event, 3rd place in the mixed kayak relay over 4.2 km, and 2nd place in the double kayak 26.2 km event.
Valeriia Tereta became the silver medallist in the single canoe 3.4 km race.
Valerii Fedyna finished third in the mixed kayak relay over 4.2 km, while Illia Horlov took 3rd place in the single canoe over 19 km.
Ihor Kisil became the champion of Ukraine in the double kayak 22.6 km discipline, and Zakhar Fedak won gold in the double canoe over 15.4 km.
“Soon athletes from Lviv Oblast will compete at the European Championships in canoe sprint, paracanoe and masters, which will take place on 10–14 June in Portugal,” noted the director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv RMA, Roman Khymiak.
