Lviv’s Dynamo Returns to the Top of Ukrainian Water Polo
Dynamo Lviv Water Polo Club — twelve-time champion of Ukraine 🏆🤽🏼♂️ The team secured the championship in the penultimate round of the competition, five games before the end of the league season.
Fifth Round Results
The fifth round of the Ukrainian Super League Championship took place in Lviv from April 25 to 27. Three teams from Lviv participated in the competition: water polo players from Dynamo Lviv club, LFKC-Akvatico, and the ‘Lions’ team of the Game Sports Club.
Throughout the championship, the ‘Dynamo’ players claimed victories in all matches, without a single loss or draw. The Lviv team matched the record of Mariupol’s Illichivets, which also became a champion of independent Ukraine 12 times.
Other Participants and Prospects
The ‘Lviv Vocational College of Sports – Akvatico’ team will also compete for championship awards. After five rounds, they hold the third position in the standings. The Game Sports Club is currently in sixth place.

‘Dynamo Lviv’ water polo players are also multiple winners of the Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup. They are officially poised to become national champions this season in June. Lviv region will host the final tour of the Water Polo Super League from May 8 to 11,” stated Roman Khimyak, head of the Department of Sports, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
