Volleyball Players from Stryi Secured Victory in the Regional Stage of School Leagues
In the Lviv region, the final games of the IV stage of the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder National School Leagues’ project are held. These are the largest competitions among students of general education institutions. The event took place at ‘Bosco Arena’ on April 16-17.
Participants and Winners of the Competitions
8 teams from all districts of Lviv region and Lviv, which won at the district stage of the school league, participated in the regional volleyball competitions among girls. These are students from the following educational institutions:
- Stryi Lyceum Named After Hero of Ukraine Andriy Korchak
- OZSSO Strelky Named After Father Mykhailo Verbytskyi I-III grades
- Horodok OZSSO No. 5 I-III grades of Horodok City Council
- Lyceum No. 2 of Mostyska City, Mostyska TG
- Verkhniodrozhevskyi ZSSO I-III grades of Medenytsia Settlement Council
- Brody Supporting Institution of General Secondary Education I-III Degrees No. 4 of Brody MG
- Lyceum Named After Taras Gorodetskyi of Sheptytskyi City Council
- Lyceum No. 46 LMR
The winners and prizewinners were:
- 🥇1st place — Stryi Lyceum Named After Hero of Ukraine Andriy Korchak
- 🥈2nd place — Lyceum No. 2 of Mostyska City, Mostyska TG
- 🥉3rd place — Horodok OZSSO No. 5 I-III grades of Horodok City Council
‘School leagues take place in five stages. The teams that competed today had previously won at the school, territorial, and district stages. And the volleyball players of the Stryi Lyceum, who became the strongest in the region, will later represent Lviv region at the nationwide stage of the ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ competitions’, explains Director of the Department of Sports, Youth, and Tourism of Lviv OVA, Roman Khimyak.
Upcoming Competitions
On April 23-24, the winners of the regional stage of school volleyball leagues among boys will be determined by students of grades 5-9. The competitions will also take place at ‘Bosco Arena’.
