Stryi Gymnasium No. 10 Wins at the Regional Stage of School Volleyball Leagues
In the Lviv region, the final games of the IV stage of the project “Side by Side Nationwide School Leagues” — the largest competitions among students of general education institutions — are taking place. Let us remind you that teams compete to determine the strongest in five stages. The school, territorial, and district stages have already taken place, and the regional stage is ongoing, with the nationwide stage coming up.
Participants and Winners of the Regional Stage
In the regional volleyball competitions among boys of grades 5-9, 8 teams from all districts of Lviv and Lviv city participated, as they had won the district stage of the school league. These are students from the following educational institutions:
- Stryi Gymnasium No. 10 of Stryi City Council
- ZZSO I-III degrees of Nizhankovychi
- Volytsia ZZSO I-III degrees of Rava-Ruska City Council
- Lyceum No. 1 of Mostyska, Mostyska Territorial Community
- Boryslav City Council Lyceum
- Zozulivka General Secondary Education Institution of I-III degrees of Zolochiv City Council
- Gymnasium No. 12 of Sheptytska City Council
- Lviv Academic Gymnasium
The winners and prize winners are:
- 🥇 1st place — Stryi Gymnasium No. 10 of Stryi City Council
- 🥈 2nd place — Gymnasium No. 12 of Sheptytska City Council
- 🥉 3rd place — Lviv Academic Gymnasium
Hence, the volleyball players of Stryi Gymnasium will represent Lviv region at the nationwide stage of school leagues. The dates and locations of this year’s final competitions will be announced additionally.
“Volleyball is, undoubtedly, one of the favorite sports among schoolchildren in Lviv region. At the third, territorial stage of school leagues, 166 teams of boys and girls competed in two age groups. This is the largest number of participants among all sports within the project,” noted Roman Khimyak, head of the department of sports, youth, and tourism of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
Remember, students from Stryi also took first place in the regional stage of school leagues among girls, but from another educational institution — Stryi Lyceum named after Hero of Ukraine Andriy Korchak.
The next school league Side by Side competitions will be held on April 28-29. Volleyball players of grades 5-9 will compete.
