
The first stage of the Ukrainian Cup in decathlon for veterans took place at the central stadium in the city of Vyshneve. The event was organised by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine together with the Federation of the Strongest Athletes of Ukraine. Athletes from different regions competed across 32 weight and discipline categories.
The events included exercises such as log press lying down, log lift, throwing a heavy sack onto the shoulder, front hold with a kettlebell, seated kettlebell press, and timed hold of heavy dumbbells. The Lviv Region was represented by veterans, including National Guard service members of Ukraine and the assistant chief of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Lviv Region, Volodymyr Fedkiv.
By securing first place in his weight category, Volodymyr Fedkiv demonstrated a high level of physical fitness. The event supports the national veteran policy, promoting veterans’ socialisation and the popularisation of sports as a means of rehabilitation.
