
Today in Italy, the XXV Winter Olympics begins, where Ukraine will be represented by 46 athletes, including 8 from Lviv region.
This is the largest number of participants from the Lviv region in all the years of Ukraine’s independence. Among them are lugers Anton Dukach, Olena Smaga, Daniil Marcinovskiy, Bohdan Babura, Nazariy Kachmar, Olena Stetskiv, Oleksandra Mokh, and biathlete Olena Horodna. All of them are trained at the Olympic Training Center.
Our biathletes and lugers will start competing on February 8. Lviv region is represented at the Olympics not only by athletes but also by coaches. The Ukrainian luge team is trained by professionals: Taras Hartsula, Volodymyr Vakhrushev, Oleh Zherebetskyi, and Ihor Stakhiv.
