The European Chess Championship among athletes with musculoskeletal disorders took place in Torrevieja, Spain, from 16 to 26 October. Seven countries took part in the competition.
Lviv region was represented by chess player Yana Khymko as part of the Ukrainian national team. She won silver in Rapid🥈, bronze in Blitz🥉, and took fifth place in the classical game.
“The athlete’s coach is Ivan Ilnytskyi. Yana represents the Lviv Regional Centre “Invasport”,” says Roman Khimyak, head of the Youth and Sports Department of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
