Young athletes from Lviv Oblast won first and second place at the European Rapid Chess Championship

The champion was 9-year-old Solomiya Svitenko from Horodok. The chess player played 9 games and lost only one. She became the best among athletes from 19 countries.

Solomiya persistently and conscientiously went to victory: three times a week she practiced chess in Gorodok with coach Andriy Grekh and three more times at the Junior High School “Debut” with Volodymyr Grabinsky. And before the championship, she trained hard every day.

A high result was also shown by Tetyana Molchanova from Lviv, who is coached by Serhii Boretskyi and Maksym Maceyko. She became the vice-champion among athletes under 8 years of age.

Congratulations to our athletes. We are proud of you!
