
Young weightlifters from Lviv region won 14 medals at the Ukrainian Championships among boys and girls under 13, which took place in Khust.
The overall champion among girls in the 36 kg weight category was Diana Inkova. She claimed gold medals in the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the combined total.
In the same weight category, Viktoriia Pervachuk took bronze in the clean and jerk and in the combined total.
In the 40 kg weight category, Amaliia Leonova won gold in the clean and jerk and two silvers in the snatch and the combined total. The athlete was unable to hold 42 kg, which cost her the overall victory in the combined event.
Among the boys in the 65 kg weight category, the overall champion in the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the combined total was Denys Rodak, who finished 12 kg ahead of his closest rival.
In the 60 kg category, Vladyslav Matiash earned three silver medals in the snatch, the clean and jerk, and the combined total.
Just short of the podium were young athletes Artem Sokhan, Maksym Protasevych and Markiian Mahora in the 34 kg, 46 kg and over 65 kg weight categories respectively.
