On Saturday, July 30, at the base of the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center in Sambir Oblast, the Ukrainian Summer Biathlon Championship among juniors and juniors ended. 39 juniors and 28 juniors participated in the competition, representing Kharkiv, Zakarpattia, Kyiv, Ternopil, Chernihiv, Sumy, Volyn, Lviv regions and the city of Kyiv.
Lviv Oblast was represented at the competition by athletes and coaches of the Lviv Regional Center for Olympic Training in Winter Sports. Yuliya Horodna became the champion in the sprint and the pursuit race and the vice-champion in the super-sprint. Olena Horodna won bronze awards in the sprint and pursuit races and took sixth place in the super sprint.
Other representatives of the national team of the Lviv Region Yuliana Teikalo, Viktoriya Yasenych and Taras Bardadyn also showed high results. In the overall team competition, the national team of the Lviv region, coached by Andriy Ivashchyny, Roman Polyuga and Oleg Patlasov, took second place. Biathletes from Sumy region won the competition, athletes from Ternopil region won bronze.
We will remind you that at the competition, athletes fought not only for medals, but also for the right to represent Ukraine at the World Championship, which will be held in Germany at the end of August.
