The Lviv Region team emerged as the strongest at the Ukrainian Canoeing Championships in kayaks and canoes among juniors and under-23s, winning a total of 90 medals. This was reported by the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The competition took place in Uman from 20 to 24 May and brought together 27 teams from various regions of Ukraine.
Male and female athletes from Lviv Region claimed 31 gold, 26 silver and 33 bronze medals.
The team standings podium is as follows:
- Lviv Region 1 — 2912 points;
- Poltava Region 1 — 2390 points;
- Vinnytsia Region — 2090 points.
As noted by the Director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Roman Khimyak, eight canoeists from Lviv Region met the standard for the title of Master of Sport of Ukraine. They are Yana Chychkevych, Olena Chychkevych, Artem Mahyr, Zakhar Fedak, Yulian Katerynochkin, Mariia Zhuk, Nadiia Uhriana and Olha Titska.
