The Lviv region team claimed overall victory in the team standings at the Ukrainian Canoe Sprint Championships for boys and girls, held in Uman from 4 to 9 August. A total of 31 teams from different regions of the country took part in the national championships.
According to the Director of the Department of Sport, Youth and Tourism of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Roman Khimyak, male and female athletes from the region won 84 medals in total, including 25 gold, 34 silver and 25 bronze.
Based on the results of the championships, the Lviv region team took first place among the participating teams. The top three were:
- 1st place — Lviv region, 1,583 points;
- 2nd place — Dnipropetrovsk region, 1,575 points;
- 3rd place — city of Kyiv, 1,349 points.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration notes that the performance of the young paddlers demonstrates the high level of preparation of the region’s athletes and coaching staff.
