In the village of Tsebliv, located near the town of Belz, two exceptionally rare gravestones commemorating the Ukrainian Sich Riflemen of the Ukrainian Galician Army (UGA) have been preserved at the local cemetery, standing beside a monument dedicated to those who fought for Ukraine’s independence.
Such memorials are extremely uncommon, especially considering the Soviet era, during which many symbols of Ukrainian resistance and national struggle were deliberately destroyed. The survival of these gravestones to the present day is both surprising and inspiring.
These monuments are not just historical artifacts — they represent the unbroken spirit of the Ukrainian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their homeland’s freedom.
