Last week, the official awarding ceremony of the winners of the All-Ukrainian contest “Golden Flipchart-2023” took place in the city of Ternopil.
The event united public activists from all over Ukraine. The competition was organized jointly with partners by the public organization “Educational Analytical Center for Community Development”.
The winners of the competition were determined in 6 nominations – “Project of the Year”, “Volunteer Initiative of the Year”, “Youth Project of the Year”, “Journalistic Initiative of the Year”, “Youth Council of the Year” and “Public Organization of the Year”. The winners were chosen in two ways – based on the results of online voting on the project website and based on the evaluations of the expert committee.
The Youth Council of the Slav Territorial Community, according to the evaluations of the expert commission, received second place in the “Youth Council of the Year” nomination, and according to the results of online voting, the Youth Council of the Mykolaiv City Council took third place.
“This award is very important first of all for the team of our youth council, all the youth of Mykolaiv Oblast and the community. The year 2022 was a challenge for us, because it was necessary to quickly change the main consultative and advisory function of the youth council to volunteering and helping our military. Thank you all for your support, your votes and words of gratitude, because we really have behind us dozens of implemented projects, trainings and promotions and a lot of work for our victory and youth development. I will also add an important phrase for me: “Youth is the driving force of the state”, and now more than ever these processes must work at their full potential,” said Olena Heryak, head of the youth council at the Mykolaiv City Council.
The organizers noted that information about the initiatives and projects of the winners of the competition will become part of the unique publication “Civil Society of Ukraine during the War: Stories of Struggle and Insubordination.”
According to the youth and sports department of Lviv Oblast, there are youth councils in 26 territorial communities in the region. The main task of such councils is the maximum representation of the interests of young people before local self-government bodies and authorities.
It is worth noting that communities are interested in involved youth for the development of their towns and villages, because the Youth and Sports Department of Lviv Oblast often receives requests from them for help in creating new youth councils and strategizing the work of existing ones.
