National-Patriotic Gathering Honored the Memory of the Village Hory

On August 28, a national-patriotic gathering was held, dedicated to the tragic history of the village of Hory, which was burned during Operation Vistula.

The gathering began with a memorial service for the residents of the village and fallen heroes of Ukraine, as well as the blessing of the granite slab ‘To Fighters for the Freedom of Ukraine’. A joint prayer honored the memory of all those who laid down their lives for the freedom of our people.

‘We have no right to forget either those who fell in the past or those who today are sacrificing their lives for Ukraine. Their courage and steadfastness are an example for each of us’, said Oksana Bereza, head of the Belz City Council. Priests called on those present to keep faith, maintain unity, and not lose hope.

A special atmosphere of the event was created by musical performances by groups and performers, including the amateur group NDS N.S. Nizy ‘Glow of Mint’ and the song and music ensemble ‘Knyazhy’.

The village of Hory lives in the hearts of those who know its history, and our community continues to preserve the memory of the past so that future generations have the strength to move forward.
