Near Lviv, three people were rescued during a fire in an apartment building.
On November 28, at 19:40, a call was received about a fire in a three-story apartment building on Yagidna Street in the village of Sukhovolya. The fire broke out in one of the apartments on the first floor. A voluntary local team from Zymna Voda and firefighting units from Lviv were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, flames were bursting out of the kitchen window, and the premises were densely filled with smoke. The apartment owner managed to leave her home before the rescuers arrived. However, as the building’s stairwell quickly filled with toxic smoke, not all residents were able to leave their apartments on their own. Firefighters used rescue equipment to save three people: an elderly woman from the second floor and an elderly man and woman from the third floor.
The fire was localized at 20:07 and extinguished by 20:12. The fire destroyed household items over an area of about 20 square meters. 14 rescuers and 3 units of special equipment, as well as 5 volunteers and one unit of their equipment, were involved in the liquidation. Specialists are currently determining the causes of the fire.
