Two attempts of illegal importation of goods were thwarted by border guards together with customs officers at the checkpoints “Krakivets” and “Shegyna”.
A man from Chernivtsi followed a Mercedes minibus to enter Ukraine. To pass the control, the driver chose the “red corridor” traffic lane. Based on the analysis and risk assessment, the vehicle was sent for additional inspection. During a joint inspection with operatives and customs officials, the border guard found 5 iPhone 15 phones. The estimated value of the discovered gadgets is UAH 400,000.
Another Mercedes driver was stopped for inspection at the Sheghini checkpoint. When entering the territory of the checkpoint, the driver directed the car to the “green corridor” traffic lane. During the control, the inspection team discovered the goods, which were being moved with concealment. In the luggage compartment, a resident of Khmelnytskyi region tried to import into Ukraine more than 60 perfumes and 18 pairs of sports shoes with an approximate value of 450,000 UAH.
According to these facts, the customs officers drew up reports. The undeclared goods were removed according to the established procedure.
