At the “Uhryniv – Dolhobychuv” border crossing, customs officers intercepted an attempt to illegally import a luxury Lamborghini Gallardo, manufactured in 2013, into the Lviv region.
According to customs reports, the submitted documents listed an American company as the seller of the vehicle and a 44-year-old resident of Kyiv as the recipient. However, during a thorough inspection, the driver presented an entirely different set of documents.
Based on the Lithuanian customs declaration and the accompanying waybill, the sender of the car was a Lithuanian company, while the recipient was a Ukrainian business entity.
The Lithuanian paperwork stated the car’s value at $66,005, which is equivalent to 2,738,224.03 UAH according to the National Bank of Ukraine’s exchange rate.
After verification, authorities concluded that the individual expected to receive the vehicle had provided false information about both the sender and the recipient—grounds for treating the case as concealment from customs inspection.
An administrative protocol was drawn up for customs regulations violations. The final decision regarding the vehicle and the violator will be made by the relevant authorities.
