In Lviv, the movement of trams and trolleybuses has been altered due to the power outage at substations.
‘From this night, some hospitals and all municipal electric transport in the city have been switched to general outage schedules,’ reported the Mayor of Lviv, Andriy Sadovyi. Objects that previously had critical status are now subject to planned and emergency shutdowns. Because of this, some public transport routes are temporarily not operating.
Around 6:00 am, traction substations on Horodotska, Vyhovskoho, Zelena, and Stusa streets were de-energized. Trolleybuses No. 23, 24, 27, 30, 31, 32 are not in service, and fewer trolleybuses No. 22 and No. 33 are running. Tram lines No. 1, 4, 6, 8, 9 near the railway station are limited.
To ensure transportation links, some trolleybus routes are being duplicated by buses. Tram routes No. 1, 6, and 9 are operating on partially altered routes. Instead of trams No. 4 and No. 8, bus route No. 8t ‘Halytska Square — Chervonoyi Kalyny Avenue’ has been organized.
‘We are deploying replacement buses on the most heavily loaded directions,’
noted the city mobility and street infrastructure department. According to preliminary information, further shutdown of other substations might be possible in the morning at 9:30 am.
