Free training and the opportunity to receive sports equipment: physical education teachers are invited to participate in the project
Physical education teachers from all over Ukraine are invited to take part in the project “Play for Equality”, which is beingimplemented by the Klitschko Foundation with the support of theGerman Football Association Foundation DFB-Stiftungen Egidius Braun, the foundation said.
“Girls don’t play football, except in goal,” “You’re a guy, you have to be athletic,” and hundreds of other variations of discrimination are still heard today from various sports grounds and backyards across the country. That is why the Play for Equality project was created, which aims to reduce gender discrimination at the initial stage of introduction to sports – during physical education classes.

After registration, 80 participants are selected. All of them go to an intensive 4-day offline programme, after which they will have to implement sports projects in their schools: competitions, challenges, festivals, contests, and receive sets of modern sports equipment from the Klitschko Foundation.
The final stage of the project involves the practical participation of 20 teachers from different regions of Ukraine with teams of 100 students in a 5-day innovative training programme at one of the Ukrainian Premier League football clubs. They will have a unique opportunity to acquire new knowledge, master the sports embedded in the principles of the NUS, communicate with famous athletes and receive motivation from representatives of Ukrainian federations in various sports.
