Trail Cameras in the Lviv Community: Fighting Unauthorized Landfills

Trail Cameras Help Combat Litter Violators in the Lviv Community

Attention! Trail cameras are in operation. So in case of violation – the ‘heroes’ will be known to the entire community. Before the Easter holidays, the number of unauthorized landfills in the communities increases. Some households begin to actively clean their properties and throw trash onto the street, in the forest or in the field. The Office of Agglomeration and Community Development reminds: modern video recording tools operate in the settlements of the Lviv community, capturing both day and night. They are periodically relocated to new sites.

A Successful Cleanup Example in Bryukhovychi

For example, this was done recently in Bryukhovychi after one of the most polluted areas in the community was cleaned up.

For the first time, trail cameras against litter violators in the Lviv community started being set up last year. Since then, the number of such equipment has significantly increased. Instant photos are sent to the community officer’s email. This helps to identify vehicles or individuals and hold violators accountable. Importantly, it also compels them to clean up the trash.

If you still do not have a contract for trash removal, the community office can assist in arranging one: they will provide contacts for waste carriers. Residents without such agreements initially receive demands, followed by protocols of administrative violations, as noted by the Office of Agglomeration and Community Development.
