
The hydrological situation in the Lviv region as of July 12, 2025, is characterized by local rains and floods.
According to the meteorological network, precipitation in the region ranged from 0.0 to 0.5 mm, while the GP Swinya River area – Zhovkva city recorded 17 mm of rain. The rivers in the Sian and Dniester basins experienced a decrease in water levels by 2 – 34 cm, occasionally up to 59 cm. Meanwhile, in the lower Dniester, between Rozdil and Zhuravno settlements, water levels increased by 46 – 38 cm.
On the plain rivers of the Western Bug basins and the upper Styr, a rain-induced flood is forming. Water levels rose by 5 – 31 cm, in some places up to 52 cm. In the GP Poltva River area – Busk city, water overflowed onto floodplains, inundating meadows and pastures.
The next day, a decrease in water levels is expected on the rivers of the Sian and Dniester basins. On the plain rivers of the Western Bug and the upper Styr, the flood is expected to continue, with possible flooding of economic objects.
