According to the results of the competitive selection, the Kamianka-Buzka territorial community received the opportunity to develop a program for the integration of internally displaced persons with the support of “U-LEAD with Europe” experts. This was reported in the regional office of U-LEAD in the Lviv region.
The purpose of the program is to promote the integration of internally displaced persons by removing obstacles to the realization of their rights and ensuring full access to administrative, social, cultural and other services, as well as creating conditions for developing the potential and strengthening the capacity of IDPs in the host territorial communities.
As part of a new initiative from U-LEAD, representatives of the Kamianka-Buzka community will conduct an analysis of the systemic problems that arose in connection with large-scale internal displacement as a result of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
In the course of the development of the Program, it is planned to create a system for assessing the needs of displaced persons, on which budget allocations and the design of specific projects of support and assistance to IDPs are based. Also, participants of the training program will develop an operational plan of action, which gives the local self-government body a vision of practical steps to achieve the intended goals.
“The program of integration of internally displaced persons into the community is a medium-term policy document aimed at creating conditions under which internally displaced persons will not need any special assistance and protection in connection with their displacement and will be able to fully enjoy their constitutional rights without any discrimination on the grounds of internal displacement,” the regional office of U-LEAD notes.
The Ukraine Program for Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development “U-LEAD with Europe” is jointly funded by the EU and its member states Germany, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia and Slovenia to support Ukraine on its way to strengthen local municipality.
