A collection of antique coins was discovered at the Ukrainian-Polish border.
At the ‘Krakivets-Korchova’ checkpoint, during the inspection of a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter minibus heading from Ukraine to Poland, customs officials found a collection of antique coins. The oldest of them is dated 1739. 62 copper coins from the times of the Russian Empire (early 18th – 19th – 20th century) were among the driver’s belongings.
An administrative protocol has been drawn up against the offender – a 28-year-old resident of Prykarpattia, in accordance with part 3 of Article 471 of the Customs Code of Ukraine. The findings, which may have cultural or historical value, have been sent for examination. The future of the collection will be known after the examination.
