According to the Lviv communal enterprise ‘Green Lviv’, recently park lakes have become entertainment places where children and adults skated due to stable low temperatures. However, meteorologists predict that this week the temperature will rise above zero, and the ice will begin to melt.
- The ice can become dangerous during thaws;
- It is thinnest near vegetation, springs, or streams;
- Old fishing holes also pose a threat;
- Do not check its strength by kicking;
- Children are forbidden to go on the ice without adults.
“To avoid tragedy, have discussions with children about the dangers of thin ice. Take care of yourself and your loved ones,” emphasize the LCE ‘Green Lviv’.
