The Lviv Agglomeration Association became a participant in the international program Solutions Labs, dedicated to managing the stray animal population.
The initiative is implemented within the framework of the global network of metropolitan areas METROPOLIS, and Lviv is represented by the municipal enterprise LKP ‘Lev’. The first international session was held last week, discussing topics such as sterilization, population control, and vaccination. Experts from Lviv, Medellin, Kathmandu, Bogota, Ramallah, Cordoba, and Mike Dower from Thailand shared their experiences.
“This is an important event for our team. We are already working on two key areas of the program: improving animal care and promoting their adoption,” said the head of LKP ‘Lev’, Yuliana Savruk.
The Executive Director of the Lviv Agglomeration Association, Roman Kizyma, emphasized the importance of participating in the program: “The problem of stray animals is not just about dogs and cats. It is also about public safety, ecology, and urban balance.”
