The Ministry of Internal Affairs Launches App 112 for Emergency Services

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has launched a new official application 112 for calling emergency services.

The main advantage of this application is the ability to request help via the internet (Wi-Fi), which is critically important during blackouts or in areas where mobile signal disappears. The application can be used in ‘Points of Invincibility’, stores, or post offices with network access.

The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Leonid Tymchenko, addressed the Ukrainians: ‘Please help install the 112 application for your relatives, elderly people, or those in small towns. In the absence of mobile communication, as long as there is internet access, you can call service 112 using a smartphone.’

The application is simple to use: you press the call button, report an incident, and the operator determines which services need to be dispatched for assistance.
