
The hydrological situation on the rivers of Lviv Region as of January 1, 2026, is characterized by fluctuations in water levels and ice phenomena.
According to the hydrometeorological network, 0.1 to 4 mm of precipitation fell over the past day. The snow cover height at meteorological sites ranged from 1 to 10 cm, with 12 cm in Lviv. The water level in the region’s rivers fluctuated between 1 and 10 cm, with local rises up to 21 cm, predominantly rising.
Most rivers maintained ice phenomena in the form of frazil and slush ice. Only in isolated areas was the setting of incomplete ice cover observed. Water temperature in the rivers ranged from 0.0 to 2.2°.
The following day, due to thawing, fluctuations in water levels with a tendency to rise and a reduction in ice phenomena are expected.
