There is no shortage of good reasons to be happy about the success of our athletes.
On the twenty-second of September, the meeting of the executive committee of the Horodotsk City Council began with the celebration of sports people who, with significant achievements, contribute to the creation of the sports glory of the Horodotsk community.
First, the director of the Center “Sports for All” (Horodok) Vika Misko presented to the mayor Volodymyr Remenyak an award from Lviv OVA for Horodotsk TG as the best sports community of Lviv Region, where the most diverse sports are developed. In addition, Horodochchyna is almost the only territory in the region that has hosted representatives of the national team of Ukraine – in taekwondo. The wrestlers had to flee the war to the safer Lviv region, and since the end of March they have been practicing at the base of the “Sports for All” Center.
The head of the community, Volodymyr Remenyak, presented the gratitude of the Horodoch City Council to the bronze medalist of the European Taekwondo Club Championship among youth in the age category of 16-21 years, Maria Timofeeva – for significant personal sports achievements, contribution to the development of martial arts in Horodoch region.
Maria is a pupil of the Kharkiv Taekwondo School. Currently, he trains and performs, representing Ukraine, in particular, Horodok and the community, at the international level.
Now the athlete is actively preparing for the European Youth Championship, which will be held in the near future in the capital of Albania, Tirana. Good luck and new victories!
The mayor also fulfilled the pleasant mission of awarding a diploma of the Lviv District State Administration to the master of sports of Ukraine, coach of the KU “Sports for All Center” Myroslava Vyzdryk. The titled athlete caused a real sensation by winning three gold awards at once on the podium of the Ukrainian weightlifting championship among men and women.
The woman from Horodkiv had no equals among the participants in the 87 kg weight category, both in the jerk, the push, and in the sum of the dueling. And this is far from the first sports trophy of our weightlifter! We are proud!
Among the honored athletes is Yosif Budzinskiy, the head of the volleyball club. V. Remenyak gave him a well-deserved thanks from the Lviv Regional State Administration – for his high professionalism, significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports.
