Spawning Ban on Fish Fishing in Lviv Region: Dates and Rules
From April 1, 2025, the annual spring-summer spawning ban on the extraction (fishing) of fish and other aquatic bioresources in the fishery water bodies of the Lviv region has commenced.
Dates of Fish Fishing Ban
- on the Western Bug River from April 1 to May 20;
- on the Dniester River, water bodies, and reservoirs from April 1 to June 10;
- on the auxiliary river systems from April 1 to June 30.
According to the Rules of Amateur Fishing, approved by the order of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine dated 09/19/2022 No. 700, registered in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine on 11/16/2022 under No. 1412/38748, the ban is in effect during the spawning period.
Conditions of Amateur Fishing
During the spawning period, anyone can engage in amateur fishing from the shore, only in specific non-spawning areas of water bodies designated by fish protection authorities. Moreover, the number of hooks should be no more than two or a spinning rod with one artificial bait. The daily catch limit remains unchanged — 3 kg + trophy!
Reminder!!! Violating fishing rules is punishable by administrative to criminal liability, as well as compensation for the damage caused.
