
In Mostyska, Lviv region, the reburial of 31 Polish soldiers who died in September 1939 took place.
The deceased were exhumed from two mass graves on the territory of the former Lviv cemetery in Zboischa. Eleven soldiers were identified by their dog tags. Now they will all rest in an organized military burial site.
“What we do together in matters of memory strengthens trust and partnership between our countries. Bright memory to the fallen”, said Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The reburial was the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, and the Polish Institute of National Memory.
