During the previous day, servicemen of the Lviv detachment stopped three attempts to illegally violate the state border outside checkpoints.
Border guards of the “Sheghini” department received information from a local resident about the movement of an unknown person in the direction of the state border. Additional orders were put forward from the unit for verification. Subsequently, the Response Team detained a Turkish national who intended to cross the border illegally. During the conversation, the foreigner admitted that he wanted to get to EU countries in order to find better living conditions.
Two more violators were detained by the border guards of the “Krakivets” and “Rava Ruska” departments, a few hundred meters from the border.
Our 23-year-old compatriot, having received a refusal to cross the border at the checkpoint, decided to commit a crime. After waiting for darkness, he headed for the state border. According to the district inspector of the “Krakivets” department, on the outskirts of one of the A resident of Yavorivsky District, Dnipro Oblast was detained. In another case, the team of the “Rava-Ruska” department detained a resourceful 29-year-old resident of Nikopol. During the “journey”, the man took with him objects that should help him overcome the barrier fence and hide his tracks. However, he did not have time to use them, according to a local resident, the Ukrainian’s journey was over.
All detainees were taken to border units for inspection and prosecution under Art. 204-1 of the Criminal Procedure Code “Illegal crossing or attempted illegal crossing of the state border of Ukraine.” The further fate of the detainees will be decided by the court.
